"Resting on Laurels?"
A review of The Ship Inn by Furnace Hospitality - Sunday 13th of December 2009
A lovely historical pub refurbished to a good standard from what it was some tears ago. Recently acquired by a new management team with new uniforms to boot. Off to a good start after the the take over but what a shame it's not Tim & Elaine there anymore. The food's the same but not quite the same. The service is OK but the youngsters there just don't care enough about providing quality service. During Tim & Elaine's time there was consistency and every meal was as near to perfect as it could have been. It seems a shame that after the business being built up so well by the previous tenants customers are now expected to accept second best in service and food quality. Don't get me wrong,in comparison to a lot of similar places,The Ship Inn at Redbridge wins hands down. In comparison to the previous tenants the current team have some improvements to make instead of relying on the reputation of the prior Landlord & Landlady.
